ANIMAL SPIRIT
The ANIMAL SPIRIT project was introduced as a way to expand and explore color, form, and style.

For this project, we chose two different animals to explore. I chose a horse, and an African Crowned Crane.

We created silhouettes from multiple different reference photos to start playing with positive and negative space.
From here, we chose our favorite silhouettes to explore and study in a sketch focused on value.
We next moved into Adobe Illustrator. I was excited to get to this step. I mostly referenced my sketches, rather than the images. I felt that this would help stylize my project.

We created grayscale value studies using our sketches.

We then took these designs and colorized them.
and then we made them fun!
Finally, we revised silhouettes from the beginning and made them into decals.
And for good measure, a mockup.
Overall, I really enjoyed the process and creativity of this project! I love seeing my designs used for something that can become applicable, and I can't wait to update this page once I have the decals to show as a finished product.
